Samson the Musical
The story of Samson is found in the Old Testament Book of Judges, chapters 13 to 16. All of these chapters have been uniquely composed to music, with lyrics from the Authorised King James Version of the Bible. It is anticipated that a musical on Samson will be produced as a CD album in the future.

Birth of Samson

Book of Judges

Samson's Name

Judges 13

This chapter relates the birth of Samson, another of the judges of Israel, which was foretold by an angel to his mother, who told her husband of it.

Judges 14

Chapter 14 describes Samson's courtship of a daughter of the Philistines, and his marriage to her. His conquest of a lion, and the prize he found in its carcase. Also Samson's riddle proposed to his companions and unriddled by the treachery of his wife.

Judges 15

This chapter relates, that Samson being denied his wife, did by a strange stratagem burn the corn fields, vineyards, and olives of the Philistines. The men of Judah took Samson and bound him, to deliver him to the Philistines, when he, loosing himself, slew a thousand of them with the jaw bone of an ass.

Judges 16

This chapter relates how Samson was betrayed by Delilah to his sworn enemies, the Philistines. After getting out of him at last where his great strength lay, the Philistines robbed him of his strength, then seized him, blinded him, imprisoned him, abused him, and, at a solemn festival, made a show of him. But, lastly, he avenged himself of them by pulling down the theatre upon their heads, and so dying with them.
