Lyrics
Lift up your heads, O ye
gates; and be ye lift up,
ye everlasting doors; and
the King of Glory shall
come in. Who is this King
of Glory? The Lord strong
and mighty, the Lord
mighty in battle. Lift up
your heads, O ye gates;
and be ye lift up, ye
everlasting doors; and the
King of Glory shall come
in. Who is this King of
Glory? The Lord of Hosts,
He is the King of Glory. (Psalms 24:7-10)

Comments Chorus David had captured the
Jebusite stronghold of Zion
and now determined to bring
the ark from its temporary
resting-place in the house of
Obed-edom at Kirjath-jearim to
the tent that he had prepared
for it in the city of
Jerusalem. Accordingly, he
arranged a ceremony for the
occasion in which Psalm 24 was
sung as part of the high
ritual. Some have thought that
David composed the psalm
especially for this occasion.
However, this is not stated.
