Mark
10:13-16
13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch
them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto
them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid
them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto
you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little
child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up
in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
Luke
2:25-34
25
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was
Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the
consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
26 And it was revealed
unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before
he had seen the Lord's Christ.
27 And he came by the
Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the
child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
28 Then took he him up
in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 Lord, now lettest
thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
30 For mine eyes have
seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast
prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten
the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
33 And Joseph and his
mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
34 And Simeon blessed
them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set
for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign
which shall be spoken against;
Dedication Service
When parents decide to place their children under the personal
care and interest of the everlasting Father, the Mighty God,
they can be assured of angelic protection.
However parents must
realize that they have a part to play, for it is in the home
that the education of the child is to begin. This is his first
school with his/her parents as instructors. He/she is to learn
the lessons that are to guide him or her throughout life.
Lessons of respect, of obedience, reverence, self-control.
In the children
committed to her care every mother has a sacred charge from God.
Take this son, this daughter, says God, and train this child so
it may have a character fitted for My eternal Kingdom.
Keep this in mind
parents, that you are to stand in the place of God to your
children. Your daily life, your character, your methods of
training will convey to your child what God is like. This is
your responsibility. This is your privilege.
