Bible Quotes
For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
(Matthew 23:4) KJV

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. ...
(1 Corinthians 12:12-27) ESV

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
(Galatians 3:28) ESV

Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
(1 Timothy 1:8-11) ESV

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); ...
(2 Peter 2:4-10) ESV1

Inspirational Quotes from Famous People

Basically, the reason I'm vegan is because when I was about 16 or 17 years old, I began to understand that we don't need to contribute to the killing and exploitation of animals to feed our bodies correctly.
--Daniel Johns – Australian Musician Born 1979

If it is, in reality, capitalism that is the motor force behind the destructive forms of globalization, then it must be in their capacity to neutralize or transform this particular mode of exploitation that one can best test these various forms of resistance to the West.
--Fredric Jameson – American Critic Born 1934

Religion is a means of exploitation employed by the strong against the weak; religion is a cloak of ambition, injustice and vice.
--Georges Bizet – French Composer Born 1838 Died 1875

We are yet to have a conscience at all about the exploitation of human cultures.
--Arthur Erickson – Canadian Architect Born 1924

When knowledge is limited - it leads to folly... When knowledge exceeds a certain limit, it leads to exploitation.

Exploitation and the Bible

The oppression of the poor to benefit the rich and powerful has existed from biblical times and will no doubt prolong into the future. Many people with power are motivated by greed, money, and how much situations can be manipulated to ensure that they can in some way benefit regardless of what has to happen to the middle-men.'

The Mosaic Covenant was established to ensure that the chosen people of Israel, who were freed from slavery from the Egyptians, could live together fairly and live with justice for everyone regardless of the social or financial situation they lived in. The vulnerable people in biblical times i.e. widows' and orphans' were an easy target in society so the Mosaic Covenant was created to ensure they weren't taken advantage of.

Throughout the Old Testament there are details of the Canaanite religion of Baalism. The majority of the people that lived in biblical times around the area of the holy land' had converted to Baalism which given the conditions of the Mosaic Covenant in fact meant that the people had deserted Yahweh. Along side of this went societal and ethical decay with the rich and the powerful exploiting the poor and weak.

In the book of Amos the extent of the exploitation is explored the lines; "For silver, they sell people who have done nothing wrong; They sell the poor for a pair of sandals." (Amos 2:6b)

Here we are informed of the extent of bribery and corruption, that the rich that can afford, in regards with the court system and the judges that were willing to use immoral means for personal gain. The justice that was demanded and approved upon in the Mosaic Covenant in the book of Exodus was not upheld. "You must not be unfair to a poor person in court. You must not lie when you accuse someone in court." (Exodus 23:6-7)

The conditional nature of the Mosaic Covenant is emphasized in the Book of Amos; the Israelites were bound to uphold the promise they made to not afflict the poor and weak. Also in Amos we are made aware of the moneyed women of Samaria, who are referred to as Cows Of Bashan' by Amos. These women are accustomed to lavish lifestyles and encourage their husbands to swindle the meager in order to keep them contented. Amos also refers to the injustices suffered by those who deal with the merchants from the market place, "You make the ephah small and the shekel great and cheat with dishonest scales." (Amos 8: 5-6)

This dishonesty was used to enhance the wealth of the merchants and behavior like this would have been encouraged by the Baal religion, which was a selfish faith; people would deceive, steal and lie in order to advance their situation in life. The Mosaic Covenant was created in order to prevent the exploitation of the poor however the introduction of Baalism into Israel led to societal turmoil.2
