Bible Quotes in Song Listen

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
(Psalm 139:6)

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
(Romans 8:24-26)

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
(1 Corinthians 13:9)

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
(1 Corinthians 13:12)
Bible Quotes

(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
(Job 8:9)

Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
(Job 11:7,8)

But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding? Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
(Job 28:12,13,20,21)

Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
(Job 36:26)

A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
(Proverbs 22:3)

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
(Proverbs 27:1)

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
(Proverbs 30:4)

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
(Ecclesiastes 6:11,12)

All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?
(Ecclesiastes 7:23,24)

Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him. For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be? Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
(Ecclesiastes 8:6,7,17)

For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
(Ecclesiastes 9:12)

As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
(Ecclesiastes 11:5)

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
(Acts 1:7)

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
(Acts 17:23,30)

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
(1 Corinthians 3:19)

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
(James 1:5,6)

The Bible and Ignorance

Think before you speak and reveal your ignorance. "A good man thinks before he speaks; the evil man pours out his evil words without a thought." Proverbs 15:28, TLB

God does not consider ignorance an excuse for sin and will not overlook a sin just because you or I were ignorant of the sin when we committed it. The verse that teaches this is found in Lev. 5:17, "If a person sins, and commits any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and shall bear his iniquity." (NKJV) (See also Lev. 4:1-2, 13, 22, 27 and Lev. 5:2 and 5:15 bearing in mind as you read that to sin unintentionally in these verses is to sin in ignorance.)

Ignorance does not excuse sin with God. That being the case we have an obligation to live a life of knowledge which means for all of us it is time to get the Bible out and read and study it. The old King James Version says, "study to show thyself approved to God." (2 Tim. 2:15) Let us not sin because of willful ignorance of God’s word - willful in that we prove ourselves to be too indifferent and lazy to study it and try to learn from it.

According to Paul, prior to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, God was willing to overlook idolatry as an expression of ignorance but that now they should repent and turn to this God. See Acts 17:16-34.

We must understand that when someone who loves God opposes Him out of ignorance, the Devil is more than happy to take advantage of the situation. There are occasions when God will chastise a believer who is willfully disobeying Him, but He never does so by harming him. Any tragedy that befalls a believer in such a situation is due to the Devil taking advantage of the situation. A good example of this would be the Christians who misunderstand Mark 16:18 and pick up poisonous snakes in their church service. Their intention is good, but they are nonetheless acting out of ignorance, and many of them have been bitten, some fatally. That is not “…the discipline of the Lord…,” because God does not kill anyone in order to correct them. That is disobedience out of ignorance, which, in some cases, can have deadly consequences.5,8,9
