But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
(Psalm 1:2)

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
(Psalm 12:6)

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
(Psalm 19:7-11)

For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
(Psalm 33:4)

The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
(Psalm 37:31)

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
(Psalm 40:8)

Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
(Psalm 93:5)

Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
(Psalm 94:12)

This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
(Psalm 102:18)

The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
(Psalm 111:7)

He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly. He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
(Psalm 147:15,19)

That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?
(Proverbs 22:21)

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
(Proverbs 30:5,6)

Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
(Ecclesiastes 5:1)

The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
(Ecclesiastes 12:10,11)

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
(Isaiah 40:8)

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
(Isaiah 55:10,11)

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
(Daniel 12:4,9)

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
(Matthew 5:17)

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
(Matthew 7:24,25)

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
(Luke 11:28)

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
(John 17:8,17-20)

(1 Thessalonians 5:20)

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(2 Timothy 3:15,16)

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
(Hebrews 1:1,2)

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
(Hebrews 2:1-3)

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
(Hebrews 11:3)

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. (1 Peter 1:23-25)

Is the Bible Inspired?
The Mystery and Miracle of the Jew

The Bible

How did we get the Bible? God told the people that He chose what to say and write. "For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." 2 Peter 1:21, NIV.

God is the source of all the information in the Bible. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16, NIV.

The Bible introduces us to Jesus Christ. "In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe." Hebrews 1:1-2, NIV.

For what purpose were the Scriptures written? "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." Romans 15:4, NIV.

What are the Scriptures able to do for one who believes them? "You know how, when you were a small child, you were taught the holy Scriptures; and it is these that make you wise to accept God's salvation by trusting in Christ Jesus." 2 Timothy 3:15, TLB.

Upon what conditions is an understanding of divine things promised? "My son, if you accept My words and store up My commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:1-6, NIV.

Don't ignore the parts that make you uncomfortable. "Give them the entire message; don't leave out one word of all I have for them to hear." Jeremiah 26:2, TLB.

When you don't understand what you read, the Holy Spirit is sent to help. "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and make it known to you." John 16:13-14, NIV.

The Bible is a map to show us the way to live. "I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me." Psalm 119:19, NIV.

The Bible gives us wisdom. "I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on Your statutes." Psalm 119:99, NIV.

The Bible offers help when the way seems unclear. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105, NIV.

The Bible gives us God's commands, which are not to be changed. "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter; not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." Matthew 5:18, NIV.

How should we study God's Word? "Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little." Isaiah 28:9, 10, NKJV
"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." Acts 17:11, NIV

Whom did Jesus pronounce blessed? "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." Luke 11:28, NIV.
