Bible Quotes in Song Listen

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
(Genesis 2:1-4,7)

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
(Job 12:7-11)

Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?
(Job 38:4,7,-10,36)

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
(Psalm 8:1-9)

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
(Psalm 19:1-6)

The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
(Psalm 24:1,2)

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
(Psalm 33:6,7,9,15)

All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
(Psalm 86:9)

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
(Psalm 94:9)

In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
(Psalm 95:4-6)

Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
(Psalm 100:3)

Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
(Psalm 102:25)

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
(Psalm 104:2,3,5,6,24,30)

My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
(Psalm 121:2)

To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.
(Psalm 136:5-9)

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
(Psalm 139:13)

Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
(Psalm 146:6)

Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
(Psalm 148:5,6)

The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
(Proverbs 3:19)

The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.
(Proverbs 22:2)

The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
(Proverbs 26:10)

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
(Proverbs 30:4)

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
(Ecclesiastes 7:29)

As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
(Ecclesiastes 11:5)

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
(Ecclesiastes 12:1)

Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
(Isaiah 40:12,26,28)

I survived for a reason. I think it was God's plan. He had a plan for me and I survived.

God and the Bible

What two basic characteristics are part of God's nature? "The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made." Psalm 145:17, NIV.

How is God described? "He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He." Deuteronomy 32:4, NIV.

What about God's strength? "Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise any; He is mighty in strength of understanding." Job 36:5, RSV.

Can God be trusted to keep His promises? "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands." Deuteronomy 7:9, NIV.

Describe God in one word. "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." I John 4:8, NIV.

God is compassionate. "But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." Psalm 86:15, NIV.

God is impartial. "Then Peter began to speak: ‘I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear Him and do what is right." Acts 10:34-35, NIV.

How far was God willing to go to guarantee a future for me? "For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16, TLB.

God has given the ultimate demonstration of what real love is. "God showed how much He loved us by sending His only Son into this wicked world to bring to us eternal life through His death. In this act we see what real love is: it is not our love for God, but His love for us when He sent His Son to satisfy God's anger against our sins." I John 4:9-10, TLB.

It pleases God to show us mercy when we don't deserve it. "Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy." Micah 7:18, NIV.

God's blessings are not given just to good people. "For He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust too. If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even scoundrels do that much." Matthew 5:45-46, TLB.

God stops at nothing! He wants us to have it all! "He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?" Romans 8:32, NIV.

God loves us like a doting father. "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" I John 3:1, NIV.

God's love is like a safe hiding place. "How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings." Psalm 36:7, NIV.

We are to follow God's example. "Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." I John 4:11, NIV.

Love sometimes means discipline. "Because the Lord disciplines those He loves, and He punishes everyone He accepts as a son." Hebrews 12:6, NIV.

God never gives up on us. "The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness." Jeremiah 31:3, NIV.

Can anything separate God's child from His love? "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39, NIV.5
